The XCOM series is notorious for its punishing difficulty and sharp learning curve and this game is no exception. The games first few missions are great introductions to the game. War of the Chosen difficulty is a little much Okay, I was having a blast trying out WoC last night, even after the bs that is the assassin showed up and made me save scum for 15 minutes. Secondly, the game throws a ton of systems at you within the first half-hour or so while also ramping up the sense of urgency with these "emergent" events like supply drops, raids, Avatar stuff, etc. Stuttering and frame drops are pretty common and loading times suck. I remember hearing a lot of praise for XCOM and found XCOM 2 in my PS+ catalog so I decided to give it a shot.įirst off, the game runs sort of like ass on PS4. I don't have too much experience with these sort of turn-based games but I did play Wasteland 3 last year and it was one of my GOTYs so I've been looking for another similar game to scratch that itch.
